Adjustable Crimps

As the saying go all good things comes to those who wait, at long last the black crimps have arrived from China and we can now start distributing this extremely popular item.

Crimps plus tapered pieces of pre-formed rubber. Push rubber through crimp to the shoulder and cut off surplus,Insert line upto 80 lb slide into position and crimp to desired friction. This does not damage line and allows hook changes without new trace lengths prolongs the life of rigs indefinetly.

Designed to be used with our very own new nylon crimping tool that crimps laterally and centrally thus applying an even crimp along the length of the crimp no more serrating your traces.

The picture is of my pennel rig using an adjustable crimp easy to make much more positive than using silicone tubing or whip finish knots infinitely adjustable for a variety of baits from large lugworm to whole squid or fish. dont over crimp. this particlar pennel is being used for fishing hard shore crabs for smoothounds etc.

Adjustable Crimp Tool

The new crimping tool for the new adjustable crimp. The body of this ingenious tool is made from heavy duty plastic so you can keep it in your tackle box without fear of corrosion. The metal blade that produces the lateral crimp is specially hardened to give maximum durability.

For too long crimps have been the weak link in trace design especially with crimping tools that produces serrated cuts accross the crimp. damaging the trace body in the process.

This new tool crimps length ways in a neat controlled way allowing the adjustable crimp to be virtually locked or to a leeser degree so the the crimp can be moved to suit the trace design. The tool will come complete with 20 crimps and rubber inserts but may only be used with the new soft adjustable crimps .

Adjustable Crimp Kit

Metal crimps are so useful for sea trace making that fishermen have used them for years despite their drawbacks. Plain metal crimps can be hard to adjust properly. Too loose, and they slip out of position. Nipped too hard - which is so easily done - some weaken the line.

Breakaway’s metal crimps are lined with soft rubber to protect the line and to allow tension to be preset so that the crimp can be fixed or adjustable. They’re also very easy to use: pull the rubber into the metal tube, trim the excess, slide into position on the trace, then crimp to the desired tension with the Breakaway crimp tool. Even at maximum pressure the crimp remains adjustable, but it stays fixed while you’re fishing.

The crimping tool is unique because it applies pressure along the crimp (axially) not across (radially) as ordinary pliers and crimping tools do. This allows the pressure to be set far more accurately over a wider range. In combination with Breakaway’s own crimps it means that the trace line will not be nipped and weakened.
